The Montessori philosophy of education is founded on respect for self, respect for others and respect for the environment. Peaceful environments are created and designed to attract and engage the children by meeting their physical, cognitive, emotional and spiritual needs. Children with a broad range of interests and abilities learn to interact respectfully as a community.
Our classrooms are carefully prepared environments in which children are guided by individual, small group and collective lessons, followed by practice leading to mastery in an individualized progression. Education for peace is central to every area of the curriculum.
Practical Life contains activities that provide opportunities to learn how to care for self, others and the environment. The aim of these activities is to develop grace, courtesy, control of movement, order, concentration, coordination and independence.
Sensorial contains materials designed to refine visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory and gustatory perceptions.
Mathematics leads the child to understand quantity, symbol and operations leading to the development of a mathematical mind.
Language includes sound and symbol activities that bring expressive, receptive and written language to appreciative consciousness.
Our curriculum also includes geometry, science, geography, history, music, art and Spanish.
Before School and After School programs are available. A hot lunch is served family style to all students.
